Jaime is originally from the Washington, DC metro area, but lived in Argentina for 15 years. After receiving her Licenciatura degree in business administration she worked as a freelance Spanish>English translator. Upon moving back to the US, she worked in the international development, philanthropy and nonprofit sectors before pivoting back to language full time. She is a certified healthcare interpreter (CCHI), an ATA-certified Spanish>English translator, and a licensed interpreter trainer and evaluator.
Currently she focuses on language access and interpreter development as the interpreter services education specialist at UNC Health.
In addition to joining the ATA’s Board of Directors in 2024, she currently serves on the ATA’s Finance and Audit Committee, as well as the board of directors of the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters (CATI). She is a member of the ATA’s Interpreters Division, Medical Division and Spanish Division, has presented at different national conferences, and loves connecting with fellow T&I professionals.
